I spent a most enjoyable couple of days of isolation working on this still life in my studio. The tomato and mushroom went onto last nights' dinner plate, and the capsicum is going onto a shaslik skewer tonight!
I live in Victoria, Australia. I have never undertaken any formal art training, but I have enjoyed dabbling and daubing since early childhood. I took up painting fairly seriously in 1985 and dared to start entering my work in shows! I am now totally hooked and if I don’t do something ‘arty’ at least a couple of days a week I get snappy! My work is influenced by a love of the environment and country life. I am attracted to subjects in the first instance by the way light interacts with the surroundings. My subjects are varied ranging from animals, landscapes, figurative, portraiture, life drawing and still life. I find the challenge of painting water particularly enjoyable. I have tried all mediums and pastel has emerged as my favourite....
