This is a pastel painting of the Goulburn River at Seymour, Victoria, Australia. This is my favourite time of day in the Australian summer period. At this time of day the colours seem to be more vibrant and rich. The sun has just about disappeared but there is still enough light to bathe the scene in a golden glow. I really wanted to capture twilight.
About Lynda Robinson
I live in Victoria, Australia. I have never undertaken any formal art training, but I have enjoyed dabbling and daubing since early childhood. I took up painting fairly seriously in 1985 and dared to start entering my work in shows! I am now totally hooked and if I don’t do something ‘arty’ at least a couple of days a week I get snappy! My work is influenced by a love of the environment and country life. I am attracted to subjects in the first instance by the way light interacts with the surroundings. My subjects are varied ranging from animals, landscapes, figurative, portraiture, life drawing and still life. I find the challenge of painting water particularly enjoyable. I have tried all mediums and pastel has emerged as my favourite....
