Pastel on 'Tex' paper - (dark blue). I have a fascination with water! I can spend hours just watching the way it moves and observing the colours that appear in reflections and within the water itself. This is the Goulburn River, which is close to my home. I wanted to focus on a different viewpoint which would just draw attention to the water itself, rather than the expanse and beauty of the river landscape.
About Lynda Robinson
I live in Victoria, Australia. I have never undertaken any formal art training, but I have enjoyed dabbling and daubing since early childhood. I took up painting fairly seriously in 1985 and dared to start entering my work in shows! I am now totally hooked and if I don’t do something ‘arty’ at least a couple of days a week I get snappy! My work is influenced by a love of the environment and country life. I am attracted to subjects in the first instance by the way light interacts with the surroundings. My subjects are varied ranging from animals, landscapes, figurative, portraiture, life drawing and still life. I find the challenge of painting water particularly enjoyable. I have tried all mediums and pastel has emerged as my favourite....
