This is a painting I completed after a camping trip to the Wentworth area, on the Darling River, Victoria, Australia. My son and nephew posed beside the fire for me. It was pouring with rain, and they sat outside while I sat in the comfort of the tent! I added the dog later.
About Lynda Robinson
I live in Victoria, Australia. I have never undertaken any formal art training, but I have enjoyed dabbling and daubing since early childhood. I took up painting fairly seriously in 1985 and dared to start entering my work in shows! I am now totally hooked and if I don’t do something ‘arty’ at least a couple of days a week I get snappy! My work is influenced by a love of the environment and country life. I am attracted to subjects in the first instance by the way light interacts with the surroundings. My subjects are varied ranging from animals, landscapes, figurative, portraiture, life drawing and still life. I find the challenge of painting water particularly enjoyable. I have tried all mediums and pastel has emerged as my favourite....

woot! What an amazing painting! our son and nephew obviously know the honor of posing for a master artist. I can feel the rain and smell the smoke. The dog is perfect for the composition and the emotions of the piece.
